As promised

Hi, this is Carson and here are the photos I said I'd post of my son when he was a baby.  Like I said, yarn makes good baby hair.

The Master of Terror!

This is Dana, with a not-totally drawing-related post. My sister, Emily, worked at Full Life, an art center for people with disabilities. At Full Life she met an actor who created this character, Master of Terror. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfVzD9onwH0&feature=related
I think he's great and could inspire some excellent drawings.

Paintings I'm working On

FishFishFishPIG in oils on board...not finished. Trying some "boring"(traditional still life) techniques and exploring brush strokes (Theres gonna be a mini whirling dervish on that shelf above the dead things)
abstracts for two upcoming group shows... I'm finding so many figures in the forms that they might turn into backgrounds :)

I figure since I'm in a DRAWING class next I should show y'all some drawings. Can I see your art pretty please?

I N F A T U A T I O N

I wanted to share an artist that caught my eye while visiting the Seattle Art Museum. Cris Brodahl, a contemporary visual artist based in Ghent, Belgium. Her paintings are based on collages she makes derived from magazine images.

P I C A S S O

Hello all. This weekend I had the opportunity to go to the Seattle art museum and see the Masterpieces from the Musee National, Paris Picasso exhibition. The Musee National Picasso is dedicated to the life and career of Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). The museum is unique in the way that it holds the works of Picasso that represnt his personal selections. He kept these works for himself in order to shape his own legacy. I ver much enjoyed this exhibition and trip to the Seattle Art Museuem. Picasso strongly believed that a painting shouldnt be a copy of reality and compared painting to a way of keeping a diary. My favorite piece that i saw of Picasso's is his Portrait of Dora Marr. Dora Marr was one of Picasso's many wives who he potrayed as highstrung, dreamy, alert and watchful. (see above image)

Hello, I'm Taylor. I just finished making these leaves and I wanted to share them on the blog, even though it isn't my week. I'm going to put them back outside tomorrow.

Post number one. -matylda

I didn't draw this, but I think it's incredible. Monsters and fine lines are pretty dear to me.
